2010 MCCC Wiffle Ball Tournament

On Saturday, Jay once again got a team together to participate in the annual wiffle ball tournament held at the Montgomery County Community College. The tournament is very intense and his team usually does not do that well. It is a fundraiser for the current MCCC baseball team so Jay tries to go every year to relive his youth. This year, his team, “THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID” consisted of Shann Davis, Nate Derstein, Mike Semko, Jesse Bessler and Andy Gotwals. It was a fun morning and the team won another game this year. They also went out as winners because one of their losses was to the team that eventually won the tournament.

A Babysitting Visit From Pop Pop

While Amy was watching Braydon and Addison, Griff stopped by with his dump truck to say hello. The kids were excited to see Pop Pop and we got a few photos of them sitting inside the cab.
Griff even let Braydon pull on the horn.

Jay's Disk Golf Birthday

Today we went to Tinicum Park to celebrate Jay‘s birthday. Jay wanted to go to Tinicum Park so that he could play disk golf at his favorite course.
The kids enjoyed themselves throughout the day by playing on the playground.
After playing the front 9, we all met back and ate sandwiches. Kara also made Jay’s favorite cake, angel food cake for us to enjoy.

Celebrating Madalyn and Bailey's Birthday

Tuesday evening we went to Jay’s parents to spend some time with Jay’s sister and her children. They have been visiting for a few weeks from Georgia and soon will be heading home. We also wanted to celebrate Madalyn’s birthday which will be on August 15th. Since we were celebrating Madalyn’s birthday, we also celebrated Bailey’s birthday which was on April 26th. They both enjoyed their presents.Later in the evening, the girls showed us all of their Silly Bands. They also worked on making their projects form the gifts that we got them.
We then had a great time playing Apples to Apples.
During the game, Jay was getting frustrated with Madalyn’s silly answers. Since they were eating marshmallows, Jay got a great idea at getting revenge on Madalyn. He loaded up a marshmallow in his mouth,
got close to Madalyn, and let it rip.
Unfortunately we did not get a photo of the event, but the marshmallow stuck to Madalyn’s chin. Jay laughed the hardest he has ever laughed.
Jay modified this photo to show everyone what he saw.
After all of the laughing stopped, it was time to say goodbye.

Jay's Softball Tournament With Bethel Baptist

On Saturday, Jay played in an all day softball tournament with Bethel Baptist. He got recruited to play with Bethel because their left center fielder hurt his arm and could not play. Since they won the tournament last year, Bethel wanted to make sure that they had a solid team.

The team did not hit the ball that well in the first three games. They won their first and second game by a score of 7-6 and then lost the third game by 6 runs. After the third game, they had to wait for 2 hours to find out if they would continue in the tournament or if they were done. The cards fell in their favor and they were able to continue. Throughout the rest of the tournament, the team hit and fielded awesomely. Their sixth and final game was the championship game. They won the game and Jay was ecstatic. Our churches softball team, Calvary Chapel of Quakertown did not do that well in their inaugural season, so Jay felt extra special to be a part of a winning team. Plus the trophy was enormous.
Here is a photo of the winning team.

Shady Maple

Today after work, Jay got a call from his mom asking if he wanted to go to Shady Maple to celebrate Madalyn’s birthday. Wendy, Madalyn and Bailey have been visiting from Georgia for the past few weeks so Grammy wanted to take them out to eat at one of her favorite places. They met at Jay’s parent’s house, played a quick game, and then headed off to Shady Maple.
At Shady Maple, everyone filled their bellies and they all had a great time.
Thanks Grammy for a great time!
