Weekend Warriors

This weekend we completed a project that has been on our “TO DO LIST” since we bought our house. Our sump pump runs continuously after it rains and Jay wanted to run the gutters and the sump pump out to the drainage basin behind our house. Sounds simple? Oh, we forgot to mention that it was about 340 feet of piping. After speaking with the township and getting the lines marked with PA One Call, Jay called in some past favors from Shann Davis and John Schreier to help with this project. We used a sod cutter so that we would be able to replace the sod when the piping was buried. After all the sod had been cut and roll up, Jay, John and Shann used the trencher. Once the pipe had been laid, we filled back the dirt and replaced the sod.
Sarah brought her children over and since we we could use the extra hands, Caden helped to water the freshly laid sod.
We stopped working Saturday night around 9:00PM. Sunday morning, Jay got some dirt from his parents and we built up two areas on our property. Grass seed was planted, straw added to keep it moist and finally we were able to water the seeded areas. Now we need to wait and see. Hopefully our yard will be back to our awesome grass in no time.

Softball Playoffs

Tonight Jay’s softball team, Calvary Church of Souderton won their best of 3 playoff against Faith Bible Fellowship to advance to the next round. It was a close game, but they ended up winning by 3 runs.
There was a big crowd in attendance to watch the game.
After the game, we went to Landis sundae bar to celebrate.
It was Dave Walter's birthday, but he could not come celebrate after the game as he was not feeling well. However, somehow he was still able to blow out the candles of his birthday treat.

Next week Calvary will play another best of 3 playoff against Zion Mennonite.
