Spoon Feeding

A few days ago we started giving Chase a spoon to use when he is eating. For lunch this afternoon, Chase had a grilled cheese sandwich and also some yogurt.
It did not take very long, but we think that he is starting to figure out how to use the spoon.

What a smart boy!

Chase's First Christmas

Chase’s first American Christmas this year was very exciting. The night before, we set up the presents for him to see when we brought him downstairs.

Chase immediately headed towards his new play table and ignored all of the other presents.
While Chase was playing, we gave Baby his present. His present is always a treat, but he still loves opening it.
Next Chase opened more of his presents.

We did not buy many presents for each other this year (because we got the best present of all in October), but Jay did get to open a few practical presents.
Now there are two Dallas Cowboy fans in our house.
Before Amy opened her presents, Chase gave Jay a special present that will hang on all future Christmas trees.
Amy then opened a few presents before we ate breakfast.
For breakfast, we decided that we would start a new family tradition of having pancakes. Chase really likes pancakes.
So does Baby.
After breakfast, we headed over to Griff and Barb’s house. Before the kids went down for afternoon nap, they opened up their presents.
While the kids were sleeping, we had decided that we would have a white elephant gift exchange between the adults. The only rules were that the gift had to be under $5.00. Other than that, there were no rules.
Griff got the best present of them all…a photo of Gwen when she was younger attached to an engraved candle holder.
Here is the video of Griff reading the engraving.

When Chase work up, we went to Jay’s parents house to celebrate Christmas with the Gardocki, Myers, Leatherman and Nelson family. We arrived right before it was time for the kids to open presents. Before we started, Emily sang “The Wassail Song” for the family.
Then it was time to start opening up the presents.

After Josh opened one of his presents, he showed everyone his zombie.
One of our presents this year was for Mike, Josh and Tyler. They each had to open the same wrapped present. The first one to hit the target won the grand prize. Josh was the fastest…way to go Josh!
Check out the two videos of the unwrapping.

This year the grandkids all got together one evening and had professional photos taken and printed for Jay’s mom. She loved them.
Jay’s dad also loved his present. He is really into the space shuttle so the grandkids put together a Lego shuttle for him to find in his office.
Before everyone left to go home, we got together and Ray took a family photo.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Caroling

On Saturday evening we went Christmas caroling at Arbour Square in Harleysville with our friends from Calvary Church of Souderton. When we arrived, we split into two groups and sang to the seniors while they ate their dinner.
Chase even got into the Christmas spirit.
