Now We Have Two Beggars

When we just had Baby Dog, we knew that whenever food was around, he was sure to be at your feet. Now the routine is to feed Chase and once he is done we sit down to eat our meal.

It gets very hard to eat when two of the things you love most in this world are looking up at you and giving you puppy dog eyes for just a small piece of food.
Almost every time we give in.

More Please

We have been trying to teach Chase several sign language hand signals. The first one we have been working on has been: MORE. We tried to get a photo of him gesturing the sign, but he does it very fast. Still this photo turned out to be adorable so we had to post it...such a serious expression whenever food is involved.
Instead we got Chase on video.

Now that he has it down, it’s always more, more, more and more. And because we have created a monster, we think the next sign we will be teaching Chase will be PLEASE!

Setting Up The Christmas Tree

This morning, Barb came over to help us set up our Christmas tree. She kept Chase busy while we got all of the boxes out from the basement.
Chase played more of a supervisor role as he made sure that we set up the tree correctly and that Amy put the decorations in their proper place.
We think that the tree turned out pretty good.

Thanksgiving

After breakfast on Thanksgiving morning, we rested on the couch and watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Around 11 o’clock, we packed up our stuff and headed off to Griff and Barb’s house. There were snow showers when we were leaving so we had to get a photo with Chase in his first snow with us.
At Griff and Barb’s house, Chase played for a few minutes before it was time for him to eat.
Lunch for Chase was very exciting.
This is because while he was eating, he enjoyed dinner and a show performed by Griff. We can’t make this stuff up so instead of describing the show, Jay got it on video.

We then left to go to the Schilling’s house where we would be eating our Thanksgiving meal.
We want to thank God for our friends, our family and especially for our son, Chase!

Strzelecki Visit

About a week before Thanksgiving, Jay got a phone call from his best friend growing up as a kid, Scott Strzelecki. Scott said that he was going to be in the area for Thanksgiving while visiting his parents and that he wanted to stop over with his family to see ours. Today, the Strzelecki family came over for lunch. With them, they brought a present for Chase to open. He is not a fan of diapers, but we were happy to get them.
We also enjoyed pizza along with a lot of catching up since Jay has not seen Scott in almost 20 years.
After a few hours they had to leave, but not before we got a photo of his family and ours.
It was nice to so our friends: Scott, Anne, Henry and Francis!

A Tight Squeeze

This afternoon, Chase decided to crawl under the dining room table. He had fun weaving his way in and out of the chairs and table legs. That was until he tried to squeeze his way through the bottom of the chairs. That’s when we had to come to Chase’s rescue and help him out.

Harbor Freight

This morning Jay took Chase to one of his favorite tool stores, Harbor Freight. They drove to the store with Shann and his kids while Amy was at work. Jay was just there to window shop, but Chase wanted everything…and he is a smart shopper as he checked the sales flyer first just to make sure that the item he wanted was on sale.

Basket Playin'

We have a lot of toys in our house. With all of the toys, you would not guess what is Chase’s favorite thing to play with…BASKETS! For the past few days, he has been pulling the shoe basket off the rack, throwing out the shoes, and he climbs in.

Stair Climber

Chase has been getting very good at climbing up the stairs. Some people disagree in our decision to allow Chase to climb the steps, but we really have no other way to block them. Instead, we are trying to teach him that he can only climb the steps when mommy or daddy helps him.
It has only been a few days, but he is getting very good. Hopefully in a week or two, he will break the one minute mark. Check it out.

Lemon

At Red Robin this afternoon, we got water with lemon for our drinks. We thought that it was time for Chase to try his first taste of lemon.
A photo from the Iphone does not give the experience justice, so enjoy the video.

Box Racing

Chase loves playing with boxes.
This afternoon, we decided to put Chase in a Huggies box and race him around his room.

Sarangan Visit

Tonight our friends Murari and Ashley came over to visit Chase. After we ate the delicious pizza and chicken fingers that they brought, we hung out in our living room.
Chase was showing off his speedy crawling skills.
Jay then showed the game where Chase crawls away from Jay (laughing the entire time) as he tries to get him.
Jay and Chase are best friends!

At The Park With The Schreier's

This afternoon we met Michelle and Luke Schreier at a park in Telford. Chase really likes the slide.
We finally found something that Chase does not like…the swings.
Even in daddy’s safe arms, the swings still terrify him.
It was fun to get out of the house for a few hours and spend some time with our friends on such a nice day.

Chase's First Haircut

When we say Chase's first haircut, we mean his first American haircut. We were nervous and did not want to scare Chase by taking him to a barber shop, so we decided to try cutting his hair ourselves. Jay started trimming first and it worked really well because Chase was distracted in his high chair with some Cheerio’s.
We then ran into some trouble as we could not get Chase to lean his head forward. Amy then took over and continued to cut his hair while we balanced him on her leg.
At one point, we thought that Chase may be growing a beard. Thankfully it was just all his cut hair sticking to the drool on Chase’s chin.
What a handsome boy!

Bazzel Visit

Sunday afternoon, Amy’s dad and Carol visited our house. They brought Chase a present which he slowly opened.
Chase wanted to play with the piggy bank, but we thought it best to put it out of sight in his room. It looks very nice on top of his dresser.

Chase Can Brush His Teeth

Early this morning, Amy got up with Chase and decided that she would see if she could get him to brush his teeth. She set him up on the bathroom counter and he chewed away on his toothbrush. Then he decided that he would be able to brush his teeth more effectively if he got a bit more comfortable.
